Guess what?

Hey Girls. I deserve 20 slaps with a wet noodle for my lack of posting here these last few weeks! I offer you my apology and I hope you'll offer me some grace. I appreciate the sweet notes you've sent saying you missed me and checking to make sure everything is OK with me. All is well, in fact, it is even better than well ...

Tonight my husband brought in the mail and handed me a large envelope with the name David. C. Cook in the return address. It contained the contract for me to sign for my next book! Oh happy day!

Do you remember me asking for prayer this past spring to finish a writing project I was working on? It was the proposal for this book - so thank you for praying. The book is called:

Can You Keep a Secret?
Divine Truths Every Woman Should Know

PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRAY because now I have to finish writing the other 11 chapters. I might be posting a little erratically as I work on this project - but I'll keep in touch here for sure. Actually, I might just need your help ... your feedback, ideas, cheers and stories. And I may want to quote you from some of your comments you've already posted during our Bible studies together. So stay tuned.

And know that I truly would appreciate your prayers for this project -- for uninterrupted writing time, for wisdom and inspiration, and most of all for my readers to see God afresh through these words. I can't do this without Him, and would not want to.

Now I'm off to watch the Olympics - I'm a HUGE gymnastics fan as I used to be a gymnast myself. Are you watching it too?

  11. OOOPS forgot to mention I love the olympics, and I use to be in gymnastics. My coach wanted me to go on to the olympics. At the end of the year I spranged my ankle.
    That finished me. hahahaha
But I loved the bars, even the mens "Rings" hahaha... What was your favorite??

  13. Congratulations! I will look forward to reading your new book!

I too, have learned so much from this study and have continued to study the women of the Bible on my own (not as much fun, though). Thank you for the Jump Start!

Anyway, be blessed, and I'll look forward to hearing about the journey God has you on!

As for the Olympics... I am in the total "Nick Jr. and Playhouse Disney" season of life. When my kids aren't watching the TV, I try to turn it off! I do follow the results online! Go USA!!!

  15. Wow... great news about your book!

I'll be praying that God can help you find a good balance, which shouldn't be too hard if you were a former gymnast :-)

    Will stay tuned...

  16. So good to hear from you. A new book, WOW, congratulations. You will be in my prayers.

TV is no longer a part of my time. Occasionally, when my husband isn't home, I will watch something, but I've enjoyed the Bible Study and chatting with some of the ladies I've gotten to know online. All of it has been a great blessing for me and has brought me closer to God.

Also I like playing some of the games especially one I play with my cousin. That is another story and has been a real blessing also. I did not get to know my cousins as I was growing up because most of them lived so far away and my parents did not drive.
So getting to know this one cousin has really been good for me. We are sister-cousins now and a lot alike.

I've also enjoyed doing my blog. I've learned so much.

Look forward to hearing from you when you can and would love to read your book.
    Thanks for all your help,
    AliceE.

  22. Rachel this is so awesome. I have wondered what was up but being busy myself knew you must be doing something. Congrats on the book and yes I'll want a copy.

  23. Not surprising that a leading publisher wants your book. I will pray for you to hear our Father. Finding that quiet time to go to the writing 'place' with family all around gets interesting.

Thanks for your investment in me at She Speaks this year. I will treasure that time forever. You are a great leader and inspirer!!!

  24. Congrats, Rachel, on the next step in your writing project! May God supply you with all the wisdom and discernment, and fortitude and hope that you’ll need.
I’ve faced so many challenges in last few months that I’ve not been able to keep involved as much as I would have liked in this Bible study, so the slowed pace gave me hope to catch up now and again, and still hang on. I’m glad to read all your comments and those of others. It continues to give me hope and increases my desire to know more about God and His ways.
Being an athlete is more than just a gift as you should well know—it encompasses discipline, training, more training, getting the best-fit coach, listening and applying, and training smartly when you ‘hit the wall’! I pray that you will remember that as you pursue this new challenge, and trust in the Lord continually.

  30. Rach,
I love the title!!! Very catchy!

It's a good idea to keep a bottled water, some tissue, chocolates, and your bible on the floor. I spent more time there face down with God as I wrote mine then I did at the computer!

I'll be there with you in prayer!
    love,
    Micca

Just got back from a week at the beach and my beach book was "Behind Those Eyes" by Lisa Whittle. Still have to finish it, but it is very good.

    Hugs, prayers and happy dances!
