The book, releasing at the end of this year, is called My One Word. It's about the process of ditching New Year's (or anytime of the year's) resolutions in favor of carefully and prayerfully choosing just one word to focus on for an entire year. One word that represents what you most hope God will do in or through you in the twelve months to come. This project is sticky, doable and most of all, it results in sustainable change. I've been doing it for five years now - along with thousands of people at my church.
So here are three choices - I'd love for you to rank order them for me.
We call this one the boggle "dice" cover.
We call this one the word "blocks" cover.
We call this the "funnel" cover.
So which do you like best - dice? blocks? funnel? (There are no wrong answers!) Got any brillant alternative ideas for us to consider? I so appreciate you giving us your input.
I LIKE the "dice"! The cover is "clean and direct" plus when rolling the "dice" you never know what word will APPEAR,kinda like our journey with Jesus. You never know what road He'll take you down. OK, Rachel :) <3 I know which ever cover you decide will be the right one! Blessings my Sweet friend! XOXOXO
ReplyDeleteI have to say the first one!
ReplyDeleteI like the first one - very clean and polished.
ReplyDeleteDarlene
I vote for the first one too. Very clean and easy on the eyes... yet stands out enough that I'd pick it up from a book shelf. Excited for this book! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nicole. We are excited too. Should be out in time to be under your Christmas tree this year. :)
DeleteI like the first one too!!
ReplyDeleteBlocks, dice, funnel. :)
ReplyDeleteRocks, paper, scissors.....
couldn't resist.
Totally love the blocks one! :)
You crack me up!
DeleteDice!
ReplyDeleteDice!
ReplyDeleteBlocks, dice, funnel... good news is the cover choice doesn't change the content which I am sure will be fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI like the dice, but the way the funnel pops is nice, is there a way to combine the elements of the funnels closeness and the rest of the dice. The only thing with the dice is it seems like alot of empty space. So excited for both of you!!
ReplyDeleteDice. I like the cleanness and even the open space on it. I know the funnel is on website but it seems to busy for a book cover.
ReplyDeleteDice all the way.
that's how I felt when I saw the 3 covers about the funnel!
DeleteBlocks! Says artistic and creative (and then dice, funnel).
ReplyDeleteBlocks, dice funnel. Something about blocks is warm and comforting.
ReplyDeleteDice for me too!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely the dice. Something about it just catches my attention. If I saw it in a store, I would definitely pick it up and give it a closer look. The others I would be less likely to pick it up, assuming I knew nothing about it.
ReplyDeleteBlocks, Dice, Funnel. I too find the blocks warm and comforting, like the constant love of our Lord.
ReplyDeleteDice, blocks, funnel. I like the way the cover stands out...just like the "one word" God gives us to focus on each year should stand out in our lives. Can't wait to read it!
ReplyDeleteMary
Dice, close second funnel, far away blocks. I like the idea of the blocks but I don't like the colors. It's not as eye-catching. So excited about this. Guess what everyone I know is getting for Christmas?
ReplyDeleteBlocks Dice funnel
ReplyDeleteBook sounds awesome.
Dice, funnel, then blocks.
ReplyDeleteBlocks Cover.
ReplyDeleteI love the blocks! Very creative and inviting.
ReplyDeletei'm partial to the funnel--i think it illustrates the idea of narrowing down to one word the best...
ReplyDeletePersonally, I like the "blocks" cover the best. But... "dice" is a better book cover. It's clean, clear and has some white space. I think it would stand out more on a book shelf :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
LeAnn
Amen! <3
DeleteDice cutieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
ReplyDeleteDice first, then funnel. (Blocks looks nice if it were for something else, but it's not the right feel for what this is.)
ReplyDeleteI like the blocks best., then dice. The funnel is hard to get at a glance if you don't already know the concept of the book. Can't wait until it comes out! God bless!
ReplyDeleteBlocks, funnel, dice in that order..... Sure would've loved to have seen a picture of Mike incorporated within the cover with his arms out in front of a dry erase board or something...., but knowing him, I'm sure he wouldn't go for that! All great choices! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteDice, funnel, blocks. What I like about the dice cover is how the subtitle stands out. And your sub-title is powerful.
ReplyDeleteI actually love the style of the blocks best, but the words just seem lost in the design. I like the use of vintage typesetting blocks though. Perhaps this would work if the blocks were white and black and with a complementary background.
This is going to be an amazing book. I can't wait to read it.
I like the blocks because it's so different, but maybe different isn't what you are going for... i love the look of it & the colors! team blocks!
ReplyDeleteFunnel then dice!
ReplyDeleteI like the cleanliness of "dice," but I don't really "get it." I'm not sure about the symbolism there. That's why I rank it at three.
ReplyDeleteI like "blocks" because it's different and passes the "eye test." You know, as in it's just cool to look at. I think I'll put it as number one.
"Funnel" is what I'm used to with the One Word concept. It's been the consistent branding for a while now, and can't be wrong. It's two.
I think the question should not be "Which do you like best?" Rather it should be, "Are any of these acceptable?" Regrettably the answer is a resounding "NO!" Scrap all three and start over. Someone can do better than these. Expect Excellence and you have a chance of getting it. Expect less and you will get it.
ReplyDeleteI like the blocks best. I like the textures and feeling of it. Then the dice second. I do like the funnel idea but everything on that cover just feels too big.
ReplyDeleteDice (easy on the eyes), Funnel (looks familiar from the website), Blocks (the title gets lost). Can't wait to read it!! My very first time coming to PC3 was the inaugural My One Word series. I've been doing it ever since ;)
ReplyDeleteThe funnel... To keep the original theme and idea of narrowing things down to one word.
ReplyDeleteThe first one (dice) is the most clean/polished looking. It's straight to the point and not confusing. Good job! :)
ReplyDeleteFirst one! I can't wait to read it!
ReplyDeleteThey are all great, but like the first one (dice) the best. Can't wait to read it.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely, the first one ~ Great JOB!
ReplyDeleteI had a hard time choosing...but in the end Dice, Funnel, Blocks. I can't wait to get my hands on a copy!
ReplyDelete<3 Heather
I'm leaning towards the funnel, dice and blocks. All look great.
ReplyDeleteBlocks. There is grit, texture, and weathering like something that has endured.
ReplyDeleteI like the blocks, because I'm a color fanatic.
ReplyDeleteI like the blocks personally. I like the fact that they spell out the book title and that the whole vignette is worn and weathered. I questioned though whether they would only appeal to women however there's at least one post from a man who likes them too.
ReplyDeleteI felt the funnel is a great visual of the idea (boiling all the thoughts, words and deeds down to one), however I felt if I didn't already know the concept it might be lost on me in a bookstore.
I think dice is the more gender neutral choice except I wish those boggle dice actually spelled one word. It doesn't have to be the title but it could be "patience" or "remember" or tie to a story in the book.
Im torn between the dice and the blocks. I think the blocks are my favorite but I'd change the background to be lighter - consider using the one used in the others so that the blocks really pop and the subtitle does too.
ReplyDeleteLove the vintage look of the blocks. The other two are both clean and appealing as well. While the blocks are my favorite, I like them all. I don't think you'd go wrong with any of them. That's rare!! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteThe dice one grabbed my attention right away! It's very easy to read and the "illustations" match the title.
ReplyDeleteNatalie
1) Funnel. 2) Dice. 3) Blocks.
ReplyDeleteDice, Blocks, Funnel ...Been doing "My One Word" for over 2 years and it's helped me tremendously...excited about the book.
ReplyDeleteDice. It looks very compelling and allows the reader to actual have a visual of how there word will be determined. The blocks are nice but remind of an arts and crafts book. 1. Dice. 2.Funnel
ReplyDeleteHowever I think that a little more polishing could also be done on my two favorites. Have a fun time chooosing.
I love the Blocks Cover!
ReplyDelete1)blocks 2) dice
~Lakeisha :)
The funnel puts it all in prospective. All of our resolutions that jumble the mind focused into one word. So stoked about reading this book.
ReplyDelete#1, #3, #2
ReplyDeleteMy first thought was dice but I really like the blocks too. Maybe the blocks cover needs some tweaking for the title to stand out a bit more. Can't wait for the book!
ReplyDeleteI would rank them in the order as they are presented. 1, 2, 3.
ReplyDeleteI like the vintage block lettering. It is beautiful...women like beautiful...they are attracted to worn and beautiful things being reused, made useful again. I like that and would pick up this book and want to see the inside words. Pretty simple. Pretty. Look forward to reading your book. Let the Spirit lead.:)
ReplyDeleteDice!!
ReplyDeleteI love the blocks!!!!
ReplyDelete1. Blocks 2. Boggle 3. Funnel (which I do not like)
ReplyDeleteI Love the FIRST one! I pray that you have much SUCCESS with your book project. It looks GREAT.
