Each year I do my tree a little different. Some years I load it up with sparkly goodness, other years I crave the beauty of simplicity. This was a simplicity year. I decided I wanted "a bird tree." So my tree has lights, some mini pine cones, some red berries, a few ornament bulbs hung by decorative hooks, red ribbons draping down from the red bow on top, and of course, birds.

Shake Your Tail Feathers Tree

Absolutley beautiful!!! Is there anything you can't do?
ReplyDeleteYes, there is Zoe. I can't sing a lick! I can't pick out a harmony part from a car part. :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove it! And do you buy new ornaments every year or did you happen to have some glitter birds flittering around already? :)
ReplyDeleteAnd what do you do wtih those old faithful ornaments? I have to hang them. Maybe it's because my tree growing up was full of the same yearly crapola and I loved it! I can't wait to get home and see all my winning creations from over the years.
And by winning, I mean the ones that haven't broken, yet. :)
Hillary, I do buy new ornaments every few years. (It's a weakness.) I store them in the attic in ornament boxes. Then I can create endless combinations depending on my mood each year.
ReplyDeleteI also have 2 different style tree skirts - one gold and one burgandy. And 4 different bow toppers with ribbons - one gold, one burgandy, one white, and one cranberry red.
I told you, it's a weakness! ;)
I love Christmas!
I picked up some of those gorgeous green balls at Michael's too this year! My youngest daughter wanted a "pretty" tree this year. They really helped to make it that way!
