I absolutely adore the week between Christmas and New Year's. It feels like bonus time to me. Bonus time to wrap up the previous year and prepare for the coming year. And that's precisely what I've been doing ... in between celebrating my daughter's birthday, gathering with the Olsen gals to make cupcakes, a family trip to the library, taking down Christmas decor, two trips to the mall with my daughter, remodelling the kid's bathroom (Rick has done most of that), and planting some amarylis and paper whites.
I also spent some time shopping for a new calendar and planner. Do you use one? Have you found one that really works for you? Do tell me your system - I really want to know! This week I'll show you the planner/calender system I've been setting up for 2011. And I'll give you a link to follow if you want to create one yourself too.
I'm not quite done with it yet, so I'm all ears for how you plan and organize your days. Seen any good posts on this? Send me their way.
Enjoy the first day of this fresh, new year.
Hey, Rachel! Happy New Year to you also,my friend! You have been extremely organized this week! I feel totally disombobulated!!! But, that's ok! I've had some precious times with my family, friends, and the Lord. My house is still in "take down" mode...we didn't quite get all of the boxes back in the attic before another football game came on that Craig wanted to watch! Oh well!!
ReplyDeleteBlessings to yo and your family for this new year!
Hugs!
Susan
My calendar tradition has become Sandra Boynton's "Mom's Family Desk Planner". It runs Mom's calendar alongside the family one so I don't loose track of either (in theory). Plus her characters are always good to start my day with a smile.
ReplyDeleteRichest blessings to you in the coming year whatever God brings your way each day!
Happy New Year, Rachel!
ReplyDeleteAs much as I love the computer, I still use a pocket calendar in my purse and a wall calendar at home. (My girlfriend gave me the cutest black and pink zebra-striped pocket calendar for 2011!) I just went through them on 12/31 and wrote in birthdays, etc. for 2011.
I love the week between Christmas and NYD too! Tomorrow...back to school/work. Soaking up this Sunday!
Hugs,
Sharon
May this be the best year for all.
ReplyDeleteI use a desk calendar and a pocket calendar. Just have to make sure I put things on both calendars.
Happy New Year.
Happy & blessed New Year to you & yours!
ReplyDeleteI use G-mail Calendar. My husband & I share it. This way we both know what the other is doing. It has been a life saver.
You can also put birthday & anniversaries with reminders that are emailed to your g-mail account.
It is all very easy to set up too!
Blessings & Peace, Mary
There's just something about a paper calendar---mine goes everywhere with me! If it's not on the calendar, it doesn't happen! (okay, while that's not entirely true, it certainly does keep me on task most of the time.)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great list. I had the opportunity to sale 'Think' by John Piper to over 22,000 college students at the Passion 2011 event this past weekend! We sold a bunch of them so you'll not be alone in reading that one...
