Please Help

OK girls, need to put our brains together here and help some sisters out ... several women have emailed me saying they can't seem to subscribe to the feed of my blog. I know that others of you have successfully subscribed. Can anyone more tech-savvy than I shed some light on how to subscribe to this blog? Thanks!

Isn't it amazing how you think you know a Bible story until you actually sit down and read it ... in the Bible ... all by yourself ... with an expectant heart? And then you see things you never noticed before. And sometimes you even get those goose-bumpy feelings like God is depositing something spiritual straight into your heart!

I'm excited to talk about Sarah tomorrow.
Her scriptures to read are posted below.

  1. I have prayed and read the scriptures of Sara and her firstborn. Good reminder that God can do anything. I'm another that can't seem to get logged in with a password but will keep up with the daily activities anyway.

  6. Okay I read everything you asked to on Sarah. I did write everything done that I felt we needed to know about the 3 chapters. One small note. It took me 1 hour to finally be able to leave a comment! Well as you asked I did it! Gen 16:1-15 Sarai wanted a baby and wanted Hager to bare one for Abram and then abused her. So here she was angry. Gen 18:1-5 This part of the chapter I like that AbraHAM in verse 3 said "My Lord if now I have found favor in your sight please do not pass your servant by" Well the Lord didn't and when he found out that in verse 10 " I will return next year and surely Sarah will have a son." She listened and laughed. So in chapter 16 she wants a baby and in chapter 18 she laughs, then feels afraid because in verse 14 "Is anything to difficult for the Lord?" This chapter is so important in my life now. Believe me I am not without children, I have 5, but everything has been a test and I truly believe that its not in our time but Gods timing. Look how long it took for Sarah to become pregnant. We look in our own lives and say "Why isn't God answering!" we get angry..because it's in His time not ours!!
Finally in chapter 21 The Lord did for Sarah as He promised she conceived and bore a son. It all was at the appointed time at which God had told her. When she laughed in Chap 18 she said in 21:6 "God has made laughter for me: everyone who hears will laugh for me." She couldn't believe that at a ripe old age that she was that she would nurse children. We ask, God answers, we say "What no way" He does what he says he will. Then we say "wow, I can't believe He did what He said He would" What an insight to Sarah!
    Thank you Rachel!

  7. Setting up feeds for blogs depends on what reader you are using - I too am willing to accept e-mails with questions on setting up RSS Feed readers...I've used google reader and the one that is built into internet explorer 7.0 (that's the newest one right?

  8. This has been a great opportunity for me to get into the word. I find it hard to know what to read about and I am lost when I just open the Bible and start reading, thanks for the great direction and letting me be a part of your journey. I look forward to meeting many new women of the Bible.

  10. There is a link that comes up in reference to signing up for Google/Blogger. If you click on that you are taken to another page to sign up with Google. Fill out the requested info and then you will be directed back to the page to "Leave Your Comment." You actually have to sign up with Google and then you will be ready to add your comments.

You press save, the save it to where you want it to be saved (it will say defult). So after saving the file, you go back and click on defult then you will have another pop up sign, it will say where do you want it to be opened and shows a list of applications. What i did was opened to internet explorer. Then You will see Rachel's blog!

  16. I read the story of Sarah and I was so blessed and encouraged by God's faithfulness. "Is anything too hard for the Lord?" I found myself really meditating and reflecting on this question. I am a single woman of 38yrs and I want to be a mother more than anything in this world! I KNOW in my heart that i'm supposed to be a mother and yet here I am not even married yet!! Well, I must admit to feeling very frustrated at times because It seems time is running out! This story (which I've read many times) hit home today that nothing is impossible with God so however long it takes God will give me my heart's desire as long as I continue to delight myself in Him! I hope I don't have to wait until I'm 90 though!!!! :o)

God always does things in His timing, I just found out that my position at my job is being eliminated and I need His direction and Praise Him for this cool time to fellowship with sisters from all over! There truly is nothing too hard for God!

  20. Hi from Canada! Thank you Rachel for doing this. Just last week I had asked my cell group to pray for God's word to be more real to me. Everything had become same ole, same ole. Then I read your devotional and thought this could be an answer to prayer. I'm looking forward to doing the devotions every morning!

  22. The passage ministers to our situations. God is our Jehovah Jireh - the great provider. Our God who makes all things which appear impossible, possible. He is not man to lie. He is faithful and brings His word to pass. Sisters, whatever we are believing God for, lets hang in there!

  23. Greetings to you Rachel and other sisters, all the way from Nigeria. Thank you for insights and how we connect them to our day to day living. I am realizing things I did not ordinarily realize before.... like (1)there are 2 trees in the Garden of Eden (2) that the 1st ever redemption from sin was in the G. of E. thru shedding of blood to provide skin covering for Adam & Eve.
Can U pls tell me - does the Garden of Eden exist physically on our plant earth or is it a spiritual 'state'..... Vickie

  25. I have read the scriptures for today. Great reminder of the fact that with God anything is possible. It is interesting how many of us will act like Sara did. I had trouble logging in by the way when I clicked on the pencil. I had to click on the comments and then I got here. Maybe that is what we need to do.

  26. wow, great reading. why do we find it so easy to let go but we find it so hard to let God? we need to learn to believe in Him for the things that we know He can do.

  27. Rachel,
Leaving the comments you have to click on comments and then you can post your comment. It seems the pencil link doesn't work.

  28. First i would like to say thank you for this bible study, i thouroughly needed it in my life.
Secondly, God is so merciful. No matter what we did in our past through laughter(doubt), or through not knowing, God always has a way of making things right and He did in my life.
Thirdly, this is a very good story for all the teenagers right now, including mine. Like me i chose to have a child (more like 3) out of wedlock. I did not wait on God's timing, like Sarah, and after all that i went through in my life God was still there, carrying me, and blessing me, and just loving me. I guess the message for the teenagers today is that no matter what you think you know right now, being impatient with what you want, you need to learn to Trust God don't laugh(doubt) at Him. Young ladies, don't be a Sarah and laugh at God, being impatient and deceive other men into being someone that you are not and don't become a Hagar, being forced into something that you are truely not ready for, like Sarah forced Hagar to do. Although Sarah made Hagar sleep with her husband Hagar could have said no, God gave her the will to do so. Maybe in the Old Testament they may have not been able to disagree or disobey their masters, but we are not living in the Old Testament today. You can and do have a will to say NO, I will not do this because it is wrong. Wait on God, have faith that He knows you and what your future holds.
This is a great story for the Youth in the church. Thank you.

  29. I’m reminded that the Lord works on our behalf in His own time even when we try to get our hands in things and mess them up. He is always patient with us and gently brings us back to where He wants us to be. I like your insight on how He did this “for Sarah” and I am reminded that He loves me just as much. Thank you again.

  30. Glad I got on board. I struggle with my time managment, quite honstly, sometimes, I'm just lazy and don't want to take time out to read. I want so much to be closer to God and it's my fault I'am not. So this has given me the accountablity I need to stay on track. So thanks so much for your leadership and for everyones in put as well. Looking forward to learning as we go.

  31. Note to Vickie..The Garden of Eden did exist on earth but was closed to mankind after Adam and Eve was sent out of it.Genesis 3:22-23 I'm so glad that God did close it off so that they could not eat of the Tree of Life and then exist forever in this fallen state. See Revelation 22:2 in the new city of God that comes down from heaven after the great tribulation, the Tree of Life which bears 12 manner of fruit is again offered to mankind. Won't that be exciting! The best is yet to come! : )

  34. Wow, did I learn something this morning while reading about Sarai. I have been going through some difficult times at work, looking to change careers, and I realized, that when Sarai was unfair and mean to Hagar and drove her away, the angel of the Lord told Hagar to return to Sarai and face her. This was my wakeup call, maybe I need to face my boss, and trust that God will correct my attitude and guide my heart. Thank you again for the opportunity to learn more of God's word through this blog and encouragement from my sisters in Christ all over the world. What a treasure,Gods word, I have taken for grantid. I still have so much to learn. How wonderful technology can be when used for God's glory!

  37. As with most others, I'm grateful to have found this group. Thanks for listening and putting action to what you heard from God. I can so relate to Sarah in finding what God says so hard to believe. I'm not sure I've actually laughed, but I tend to be sarcastic and doubting. Why can I believe God for others, but not myself. I feel like I've been on this walk way too long to still be dealing with this.
